TNR works. It is the humane approach to addressing community cat populations by saving cats’ lives. TNR improves the lives of cats, stops the breeding cycle, addresses community concerns and reduces complaints about cats. It also improves the co-existence between outdoor cats and humans in our shared environment.
1. Trap
Humanely trap all the cats in a colony. A colony is a group of cats living outdoors together.
2. Neuter/Spay
Take the trapped cats to a veterinarian or clinic to be neutered/spayed, vaccinated, and ear-tipped (the universal mark of a neutered and vaccinated cat).
3. Release
After the cats recover from surgery, we release them to their outdoor home where they were trapped.
